JoJo Siwa at ESC? Here are 10 More Artists We Would Love to See in the Contest

Following the release of Jojo Siwa’s EP, Guilty Pleasure, a number of her international fans took to TikTok to compare the song Yesterday’s Tomorrow to the Polish music genre Polo-Disco. Soon after these comparisons were drawn, more fans said that she should represent Poland at Eurovision in 2025 (given her being of Polish descent and the song’s similarity to what one would expect to hear on the radio in the country).

On Instagram the Official Eurovision Account and Jojo Siwa’s official account became mutual, and in a recent TikTok video the singer stated that her team was in talks with the Polish delegation to potentially represent the country at the 2024 Eurovision competition.

In the spirit of this potential collaboration, here are some additional artists with international renown that we would love to see compete on the Eurovision Stage.

Natasha Bedingfield – United Kingdom

Oh, the 2000s, what a decade! This queen became a pop culture icon with her hit singles These Words, Pocketful of Sunshine and her legendary foray into the American mainstream Unwritten. Natasha really did THAT. The UK could easily benefit from her presence at Eurovision either as a songwriter, as a performer, or as both.

Covi Quintana – Spain

Covi Quintana

She might be unknown to you, but she’s a gem ready for all to discover. A singer-songwriter born and raised in the Dominican Republic to Spanish parents, Covi launched her career in 2012, and made an impact in her native country’s independent music scene. After becoming more mainstream in the small Dominican market, she moved to Mexico sometime around 2021-2022, in order to further expand her horizons, both personally and professionally. Covi has done shows in Spain over the last few years, as well as collaborating with a few Spanish artists, such as Rayden, Álvaro de Luna and Rafa Romera.

Laufey – Iceland

Laufey by Gemma Warren

With a mission to bring jazz and classical music to the youth, the Reykjavík native will be a familiar face to a number of Icelandic viewers. In 2014, she competed on Iceland’s Got Talent and a year later on The Voice Iceland (where she made it to the semifinals and was the youngest competitor at the time) and performed as a cello soloist with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra. Since then, she graduated from the Berklee College of music in Boston (as did a number of other recent Eurovision Artists), performed with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra (again), performed at Iceland’s Airwaves Music Festival, had an NPR Tiny Desk Concert, and won the 2024 Grammy for Best Traditional Pop vocals. She has received critical acclaim from around the globe for her gentle sound and viralty on TikTok with her song From the Start, she had brought an appreciation for Jazz to Gen Z.

Blusher – Australia

Blusher

The trio of women: Lauren Coutts, Jade Ingvarson-Favretto, and Miranda Ward from Melbourne, Australia have toured on their own and as a supporting act for artists like Aurora and Eurovision Alum Da∂i Freyr on his North American Tour. The three members of the band split the instrumental, vocal, and songwriting duties between them. They have a synth heavy dance-pop sound, and on songs like Accelerator and Overglow it’s clear to hear future chart success between the notes. Blusher would suit the direction that Australia has taken in recent years with their internal selections sonically, while providing a fresh artist from Down Under.

Tonee Marino – Armenia

Tonee Marino

The artist from New York City mixes together modern crowd pleasing genres like house, hip hop, r&b, and Afrobeats with Armenian folk music to give the listener a truly global experience. Tonee Marino’s song Hayastan is the perfect union of the hip hop influenced sounds that Armenia has brought to Junior Eurovision in recent years with the folk that saw LADANIVA bring a Top 10 Finish for Armenia.

Lucky Love – France

The stage name of the dancer, model, actor, and singer Luc Bruyère; mixes smooth vocals with hip hop influenced beats, and lush orchestration to provide the listener with a transformative soundscape. In his music he explores themes of gender, sexuality, and life in both English and French. His biggest hit from his 2023 EP TRENDRESSE, Masculinity has over 8 million plays on Spotify. 2024 has been a good year for the artist. In January, he performed at the viral Maison Margiela Artisanal Collection fashion show, performed at Paris Paralympic Opening Ceremony, and in November will embark on a six country European Tour.

Roxie Węigel, Viki Gabor or Sara James – Poland

Roksana Węigel, Viki Gabor, and Sara James

Poland, Poland, Poland… y’all don’t need an American to do the job, you have enough local talent to do miracles for you at Eurovision (yes, this is a read because of rumors surfaced in recent weeks). We wish that either Roxie Węigel (now 19), Viki Gabor (now 17) or Sara James (now 16), and the stars behind this country’s 3 best results at Junior Eurovision (Roxie & Viki won in 2018 and 2019 respectively, with Sara coming in 3rd in 2021) are more than equipped and talented to take the big ESC stage by storm and probably win it all, with the right song, of course.

Molly Sandén – Sweden

Molly Sandén by Zoe Que

Since we first met her at Junior Eurovision 2006, the fandom has been rooting for Molly to compete on the big Eurovision stage ever since. She attempted to represent Sweden a total of 3 times at Melodifestivalen, doing so in 2009, 2012, and 2016. Then, she had somewhat of a Eurovision moment, as Molly provided the singing voice for Rachel McAdams’s character in Netflix’s original movie Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga back in 2020. This movie led her to perform the Oscar-nominated song Husavik (My Hometown) at the 2021 ceremony of said award show, and it happened live from Husavik, Iceland.

These ten artists are our personal picks for who we would like to see represent these respective countries at Eurovision one day, who are some of yours?
