The Czech Republic is keeping the momentum going and retuning to the Eurovision Song Contest community. Seven artists: Aiko, Elly, Gianna Lei, Lenny, MYDY, Tom Sean, and Tomas Robin are in the running to represent Czechia at the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest happening in Malmö, Sweden.
The Czech Republic’s national selection prides QUALITY over QUANTITY, and gives their artists the freedom to guide their introduction to Eurovision audiences, a formula more national selections would do best to emulate. Czechia has been serving genre diversity and a nice “wink” of forward-thinking.
Last year’s entry from Vesna came out bombastic with an ethnic anthem that felt modern and aspirational. With 129 point in total Czechia finished 10th— a top-notch finishing for a country that is relatively “new” to the Eurovision eco-system.
This year’ the Czech Republic has a real shot at making an impact in Malmö, with momentum on their side and a country many would love to travel to (it is CHEAP). All eyes (and ears) are on who will eventually win. BUT! Lucky for us, the choice can be ours:
