Ireland Decides To Send The Witch— Bambie Thug is going to Eurovision

Ireland’s national selection was back at RTÉ’s The Late Late Show with a larger new stage and the same old sound issues. Not to be swayed by the paired down format, Ireland’s Eurosong was in full swing with a diverse line up of songs and interesting performers. From hip hop to pop— Ouija Pop to hyperpop metal.

The internet was ablaze during the show

Ireland is taking a risk with Bambie Thug, a risk that’s been much requested from Irish Eurovision fans. After becoming equal with Sweden on Eurovision wins, it seems like fans and the Irish public are hearing the demands for change.

Bambie is a completely independent artist that will have the opportunity of a lifetime getting a global introduction to the world on the Eurovision stage in May. But don’t discount them— they have 60 million streams (and counting) on music written for other folks from a variety of genres.

Bambie was ultimately the pick of the Irish public and jury making this win decisive and clear.
